Introduction

Hounslow Central is a London Underground station in Hounslow in west London. The station is on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly Line, between Hounslow West and Hounslow East stations. The route through Hounslow Central station was opened by the Metropolitan District Railway (MDR), now the District Line, as a branch to Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West). The branch line was constructed as single track from the MDR’s existing route to Hounslow Town station located at the eastern end of Hounslow High Street which had opened in 1883. Initially the branch had no stations between the terminus at Hounslow Barracks and Osterley & Spring Grove (now Osterley).

Piccadilly Line services, which had been running as far as Northfields since January 1933 were extended to run to Hounslow West on 13 March 1933. From this date, the branch was operated jointly by both lines until District Line services were withdrawn on 9 October 1964.

Me and my better half had planned a Paris visit since a long time and we finally got to visit this beautiful city last Christmas. However, before our trip, the primary concern on our mind was finding a budget hotel to stay since Paris is traditionally a very expensive city to live or visit. All the 60 rooms in the hotel were well air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities like flat-screen TV, minibar, complimentary WiFi connectivity as well as ensuite marbled bathroom with modish amenities.
 
During our stay at this hotel, we were served with lip smacking buffet breakfast every morning and the hotel also had a relaxing bar where we would often spend quiet evenings and enjoy our favorite drinks. The room provided to  us was decorated in an elegant fashion and had all the modern amenities that we could ever think of from a budget hotel. Ours was a wonderful French hotel. The room was tidy and clean and nicely done up when we checked in at the hotel. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and the best part was that  all of them could speak fluent English which proved to be quite beneficial since none of us were really good at speaking French. The fittings inside the room were also decent enough. Our hotel was located just off the popular Square de Madeleine.

The metro station was only at a walking distance of ten minutes from our hotel. We could visit places like Champs Elysees, Louvre and the Arc de Triump and also did the Seine boat trip. We also visited the Norte dame Cathedral. We also took the bus ride to travel to Paris Opera district and indeed, it was a beautiful journey.

During our stay here, we also rented an urban bike which is easily available in the city and we could explore most of the attractions of the city through the rented bike. There were several metro stops located at a convenient distance from our hotel so travelling to any part of the city was never a problem. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this city on a budget.

The bar of the hotel had a great collection of assorted wines and cocktails which I thoroughly enjoyed. All in all the fooding was great in the French environment.

The place lies in close vicinity to Place Saint Michel, Catacombes, the archaeological Lain Quarter, amazing Gare Montparnasse, Place Denfert Rochereau and splendid Jardin du Luxembourg. Taking a stroll on the banks of River Seine is truly amazing on the evening. With several means of commuting, travelling was never a problem. The hotel shared a near distance with metro stations, railways stations etc. It kept us connected to the whole of Paris city. Rental bikes are also a great way to check out the Parisan attraction and enjoy a perfect day out. The hotel offers shuttle service and airport shuttle service for us.

2. The Quays: Not strictly in the city of Manchester, but in the city of Salford. Nevertheless, these old docks on the Manchester Ship Canal make a great stop on any tour of the area. Among the attractions is the Lowry gallery, the Imperial War Museum North, the BBC’s new MediaCityUK studios (tours are available), a sculpture trail and a shopping outlet mall. Football fans should head for the nearby Old Trafford to take a tour of the home of Manchester United.

3. Northern Quarter: If you’re looking to escape from the mainstream world, this area is full of vintage boutiques, junk shops, galleries, music venues, cool cafes and much more. There are impressive murals and mosaics, plus a sculpture hall containing statues of important figures from Manchester’s history.

Practicalities: Manchester is easily reached by plane or train – there’s no need to drive, as once you’re there, the tram network and the city’s buses make it easy to get around.
